DEL Graduate Intern Programme

In 2010 the Greater Shankill Partnership (along with the 4 other Belfast Area Partnerships) participated in the Department of Employment and Learning (DEL) Pilot, Graduate Intern Programme. GSP successfully placed 7 Graduate Interns both in the Partnership and in associated organisations.

The project aims to give newly qualified Graduates real experience in a working environment, while also using thier skills and knowledge to benefit the local community.  The Graduate Interns were given a 6 month post in their placement organisation.

The roles included those of: Archivists, Urban Planner, Development Officers, Web Design and Communications and Arts & Culture Officer.  In addition to the Greater Shankill Partnership, placement organisations included the Linenhall Library, Volunteer Now (VSB) and the Employment Services Board (ESB).

The Graduate Interns were integrally involved in innumerable Partnership projects and events and have all contributed to and produced many discrete pieces of work.
