Most will know that Clinton Kirkpatrick, who has worked with various groups in the Shankill area, including GSP and Impactraining; spent almost two months in Kenya mid 2011. Upon returning home, created a new body of painting which went on display in March 2012 at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.
Fundraising efforts are in place in the coming months to hopefully enable Clinton to return and continue with the work started in 2011. Reaching towards a target of £3000, he is £1,100 of the way into fundraising so far.
Clinton is leaving in October 2012 for approximately 6-8 weeks; this time it will be a self arranged residency which will enable Clinton to return and work closely alongside Kenyan people where he will develop skills, teach to youth, collaborate with individuals, establish links with arts organisations, create a personal body of works and really try to understand certain mentalities gained within his work in 2011.
Catalogues from Clinton's last exhibition are available for sale at £5 (additional postage £2 Uk and £4.50 International) where the money raised from these sales will go directly into the Kenya 2012 fund.
