Titanic Mural Unveiling for Shankill

Shankill Area Social History (SASH) Group & young people from Shankill Alternatives have been working with artist Daniela Balmaverde, on a Belfast City Council commissioned Titanic themed mural for the Shankill.
The mural will erected on fencing at the top of Mountjoy Street / Shankill Road and will be over 100 foot long. It will highlight key people & social aspects of the Shankill from the time of the Titanic to present. This outstanding piece of work will be unveiled as part of History Group's AGM.
The public are invited to the Spectrum Centre (Youth Lounge) on Monday 25th June at 11.00am for a short presentation on the work of the Shankill Area Social History Group. After the presentation everyone will gather at the Mural for an unveiling by Elizabeth Adair, grand daughter of local man Robert Knight who was an engineer and member of Harland & Wolff Guarantee group, who sadly died on the Titanic.
